Dr. Ruth Morton
Dr. Ruth Morton is VP for Business Development at Anesthesiologists Associated Incorporated, which provides billing and collection, financial, and business advisory services to western U.S. anesthesia providers. Founded in Portland in 1960, AAI has grown organically and through acquisition in Oregon, Washington, and California. Ruth, who joined AAI in 2002, is also responsible for human resources and learning and development and communications programs to AAI employees and anesthesia providers.

She has more than 25 years as a leader with P/L responsibility and as an external consultant, where her expertise is two-fold: 1) human capital and change management for mergers, acquisition, restructuring, consolidation, and improvement initiatives, and 2) learning and development as a competitive and strategic advantage. Her clients have ranged from food manufacturers to government entities to mid-size service providers to multi-national high tech, consumer goods, and petrochemical giants.

She has headed marketing efforts for three regional organizations. Early in her career she directed university-based continuing education and professional development programs for healthcare, engineering, architectural, and educational professionals.

Ruth holds a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska and an M.S. in Adult Educational Leadership from Southern Illinois University. She is an active member of the Medical Group Management Association and the American Marketing Association, and is president of the board of Tucker Maxon, a non-profit school/center for oral education of the deaf.
